Initially it was thought substances such as cocaine and heroin would possibly fill the void as cannabis became harder and more expensive to come by, and directly after then Home Secretary Jacqui Smith reclassified cannabis a Class B substance in January 09, there was evidence (in South Wales, Merseyside and the North East), that heroin was available in five pound deals.

ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND— Tomorrow, on Thursday, March 18, the state Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee will receive testimony on SB 627, a bill that would make Maryland the 15th state in the nation to have an effective medical marijuana law.
