This was the greeting I got when I clicked on their home page.

We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!”
So I thought they are conservatives that want to take us back to a time when Republicans weren’t so corrupt. I had no idea that they viewed Republicanism as a religion who are using the tactics liberals used in the heydays of political correctness to weed out all views other than those of Republican politicians no matter how wrongheaded they are or how criminal their motives are for whatever they do. So I put a smile on and registered receiving a prompt email the took me directly to where I could post my article.
Frankly I had no idea what kind of response I would get if any. In fact I post articles around the internet all the time most of the time not remembering where. But since there was the registration email that lead me back to an account where comments on what I posted were readily accessible, (http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2046496/posts
)I stopped by to see how it was doing. To my total surprise, I had 48 comments and it hadn’t been more then a few hours.
I’ve barely gotten more than a half dozen responses to all my other Google news articles which have been read by thousands of readers. So I was pleased thinking I had found a place where whether they agree with me or not, they listen, a true haven for conservatism in a land where everyone is so divided politically that truth has a very hard time breaking through the gooey muck American politics often buries it in.
As I ventured down the page seeing that the crowd who frequents FreeRepublic.com is very animate in their critique of their patrons postings, I wasn’t at all taken aback by the fact that almost all of them were ridiculing me. I mean the article is about a Republican ex Senator from Texas and doesn’t paint him in a very bright light. But I figured as long as it was being read, then they were being informed which means I did my job. Of course I didn’t expect they would admit that their guy is a crook. But as long as they know it, then they might find a way to help do something to set it right to protect their own interest, even if it is done quietly. For me, anything that makes the equation in Washington head in a more honest direction moving closer to reality so this country doesn’t fall apart trying to protect capitalist pretenders who are really just greedy hoarders of money that they already have too much of. FreeRepublic,com’s welcome mat gave me the impression they felt the same way I do, that freedom needs protection from corruption, which I assumed they meant from crooked Republicans and Democrats.
When I finished reading all the criticism my article received, even though I was thoroughly tarred and feathered, I went looking for the “post” link to put up another article. I admit I would rather have received praise and honor for what I wrote but really my mission is to inform and I felt that was being accomplished at FreeRepublic,com. But the page I was taken to start a new debate wasn’t like the nice convenient one I was taken to before where it only took me a minute to figure out how to get my article up. Instead I was informed that my privilege to post was revoked because I was a “troll.”
It’s funny because I did live under a bridge once when I was homeless, in fact a few times. And sometimes I would joke about being a troll. But I hadn’t written about any of that in the article so I went looking for what they meant. Wikipedia claims an internet troll is “someone who posts controversial and usually irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of baiting other users into an emotional response[1] or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion”
The article I posted is a very serious one and should be of concern for all Americans especially those who consider themselves conservatives. Here are topics related in the article that are not open for debate because they are firmly established facts.
1 - MTBE is an additive to gasoline.
2 - It pollutes groundwater nationwide. It emission are very high in formaldehyde, a volatile organic compound that is a precursor to low level ozone formation.
3 - Drew Shindell and James Hansen, the two most highly acclaimed scientist on global warming in the world say low level ozone is responsible for weather pattern changes which is an opposing view on global warming than what Al Gore says.
4 - MTBE caused weather pattern changes when it was in use which the discovery of lead to a cover-up in Washington by both political parties because they both help mandate that it be added to gasoline.
5 - Phil and Wendy Gramm were at the center of the behind the scenes politics that brought MTBE to market while they also lead the charge in protecting it as the scandal tried to surface. When it wasn’t working out the way they planned, senator Gramm dropped his bid to renew his senate seat and took a job with UBS, the United Bank of Switzerland as vice-chairmen.
6 - A few days later, 19 Saudi terrorists attacked the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Saudi Arabia was the worlds largest exporter of MTBE with most of it coming here before its use was ended in 2006. The war on terror took the focus off the breaking MTBE story which was then covered up.
7 - Enron crashed soon after Phil Gramm announced his new job and the war on terror began. Enron was the controlling entity that managed the production and sales of MTBE as well as a trillion dollar loan to build refineries to produce it owed to UBS. Phil Gramm had been instrumental in setting up the loan. With Gramm taking the new position with UBS, if the MTBE story broke, he wouldn’t have been able to answer questions about it because he was a UBS employee with a confidentiality agreement that conflicted with his duties as a US senator.
8 - Enron’s energy online trader was used to sell the compounds MTBE was made from as it went to the refineries that produced it and then for trading the finished product on its way to be mixed with gasoline. The profits went to pay off the trillion dollar loan. When Enron collapsed, the energy trader was handed over to UBS free of charge by a federal judge where it became UBSWenergy and moved to Connecticut to lose even more money. But after that, with UBS having deeper pockets than Enron, they were able to cover the losses so the loan didn’t go into default, which was money originally looted by the KGB from the Russian treasury at the end of the cold war which was being used to fund the new Russian Mafia.
I don’t see how those facts can be construed as liberal or conservative, or especially trollish. It just seems to me to be a story that FreeRepublic.com doesn’t want to face the reality of the fact that their Republican party has made a few too many mistakes protecting the Constitution to the point that its future is threatened. The truth is it’s high time they wake up and see the light.
I do admit that parts of the article are very provoking. I tell of how I was arrested for trying to draw attention to an energy bill that had details in it being kept from the American public that would have allowed for the MTBE industry to never be sued for all the harm it caused but rather the American taxpayer would have to foot the bill. To keep the news media from focusing on what they were doing, they had been debating the issue secretly as the Iraq war had begun because with all eyes on Iraq, no one would be watching what was going on in the fine print of an energy bill.
When I started drawing too much attention to what they were doing, I was arrested for a threatening letter I had sent Phil Gramm which I purposely sent him to give them a way to arrest me when I got in the way of them passing their MTBE safe harbor amendment. I feared for my life knowing that them using the Iraq war for cover to pass the energy bill was a last ditch effort by desperate men. I figured what they would do is arrest me and send me to a federal judge in Houston who helped set up Enron’s energy online trader, Ewing Werlein. I had known for years that he had been appointed to the bench to protect the interests of MTBE where he could be counted on to do what had to be done to shut me up.
But since I had laid a trap for them to bring me to him, I was able to not only beat him but bring down the energy bill as well by sending letters to California federal judges and prosecutors who were prosecuting Enron officials for ripping off California energy market for billions of dollars causing rolling black outs using the money to make payments on the trillion dollar loan that was slowly going into default.
I admit the story is provoking but it certainly is not trollish. I do reach further than most reporters would making assessment about how the facts go together but it is all contingent on that fact that I was sent to Ewing Werlein’s court and the way he tried to corrupt the system to silence me, which is all a matter of public record so I have every right to talk about it. I mean my being brought to him in Houston from in Virginia says that I was right about what I was claiming, that the war was being used, even created, as cover for passing the MTBE liability waiver. There is no other way to look at it when you have all the facts in front of you. And the things that judge Werlein tried to have done to me while I was there further shows the contempt him and the people involved in the MTBE cover up have for this country’s justice and political system, to say nothing of its people they’re still ripping off and lying about it all too today.
So beware as there is a new political correctness movement on the loose in the United States, this time coming from the conservatives where anyone who says anything that what they want to hear is beaten up and thrown out on their ear with no way to respond to their right wing one sided debate. Liberalism grew out of a sense Democrats applied to their movement after having had too much power for far too long where they were unable to face the truth on so many issues that they needed their followers to unquestionably believe their lies. Now it seems conservatism has taken the same kind of plunge into a new kind of socialistic brainwashing where they’re using the tools of dictatorship to protect freedom and capitalism, which surprisingly is working to control the thoughts and actions on right wing fanatics like those who frequent and run FreeRepublic.com.
Thank God neither Senator’s Obama or McCain are entrenched too firmly on either side of the isle with them both seeming to be fairly well grounded on neutral political where if there is any common sense left in Washington, perhaps one of them will break the cycle of not allowing us to see where it is.
