Earth’s core being solid opens new doors for earthquake science
by Bobby Fontaine September 5, 2008
In November of 2007, James Wookey and George Helffrich of the Department of Earth Sciences at University of Bristol (UK) submitted an article to the Nature International Weekly Journal of Science (Nature.com) titled “Inner core shear wave anisotropy and texture from an observation of PKJKP waves” for peer review. In it they report how quake sensors in Japan picked up PKJKP seismic waves, a kind of wave that travels through the earth’s core, from a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Mozambique on February 22, 2006 that they claimed they were able to analyze to prove the Earth’s core is solid iron surrounded by molten iron. They even say they were able to use the waves to see the patterns left on the solid inner core by the liquid iron flowing over its surface scarring it as it cooled and froze.
Last week the paper was published as an accepted scientific fact. In it, they also claim the Earth’s core is slowly cooling from the inside out. They say it used to be molten iron until a billion years ago when it started to cool. Now it’s claimed to have grown to around 1500 miles across. That’s about twice the size of the moon. Then there’s a couple thousand miles of molten iron before the core turns into the outer shell of rock that we live on the outside of.
It’s been a long held belief that the Earth’s core is solid but it has never been proven so any science based on what is now fact before now was speculative. The solid core has also always been thought to be surrounded by liquid magma, molten rock caused made that way by gravitational pressures that grow exponentially the closer to the Earth’s center it is. It’s like when you dive into a deep pool and try to swim to the bottom where you begin feel your ears pounding after only a few feet down. Now think of swimming down hundreds of miles where your body is crushed into soup from how much pressure is put upon it. That’s how the theory of how rock is pulverized by gravity into becoming liquid fire works.
The theory was that the pressure from trillions of tons of rock piled on top of itself while being pulled towards the center of the earth creates friction far beyond the rocks molecular ability to withstanding without molting into lava. I’ve always had a problem with that way of looking at the Earth. My sense has always been that closer a measurement is taken to the center of the Earth, if it could be measured, would show that the gravitational pressure that converts rock to liquid eventually equalizes because of the mass of weight on top of it has its own gravitational force pulling it back the other way. It’s like there’s this huge mass of matter pushing in one direction against an equal mass pushing from the exact opposite direction. So the center where the two meet is somewhat pressure free because both sides balance each other out as the gravity of the outer shell of the planet begins to pull pressures building up as they head towards the center of the Earth back the other way. If the earth was twice the size than it is, perhaps there would be multiple layers.
But then if that’s the case, where does the many miles of molten magma come from? Of course it could be caused where the gravitation pressures from both masses reach a critical point of exertion against each other before they level off where the solid inner core begins. But then if that’s true, then perhaps what the professors are interpreting as groves in the frozen inner core caused by molten iron as it cools might be the surface of the inner core as it stands by itself floating in a sea of hot gasses.
Is there another atmosphere inside the earth?
See if the inner core is solid because the laws of gravity causes it to be that way where the earth is large enough to have two gravitational pulls going in opposite directions at the same time, one pulling down from the center with another pulling back towards the surface, then it’s possible that the solid inner core floats freely with nothing between it and the molten iron above it but gases. I mean it has to be considered when the first question on anyone’s mind is how could the inner core be frozen solid if its surface can be read by seismic sensors while being surrounded by red hot liquid metal. Perhaps this is one possible answer outside of the slowly cooling theory
In Wookey and Helffrich’s new theory, it’s thought that the Earth used to be nothing but a burning rock from the surface to the core. Then algae, bacteria, and fungus got together to create an atmosphere by creating an oxygen rich atmosphere which allowed the planets surface to cool. Now they’re saying that a billion years ago, the Earth’s core started to cool where a huge ball of iron has been slowly growing at its center. I don’t doubt the veracity of this claim but I have always had another way of looking at it.
You see for this whole billion years they’re speaking of, and a lot longer really, about 4 times that, life forms have been reproducing themselves and dying all over the planet, trillions upon trillions of them creating trillions of tons of dead waste that’s really not dead at all. The energy that creates life comes from the sun. Once energy is created, it lives on forever in one form or another. So although a life form might shuts it eyes forever, the matter it built around its spirit using the energy it collected from the sun lives on. And much of it finds its way deep down inside the Earth where today we harvest it for fuel.
So the oil, gas, and coal we’re using today came from life that died millions of years ago. But what about life forms that we evolved from that are older than that, lets say from a billion years ago? - or 4 billion years ago? What happened to the pre-fossil fuels from the ions before the oil we’re drilling now became crude oil? In fact doesn’t anyone ever wonder why we think we can run out of oil when the natural process of creating it goes on today? Oil can never become a finite resource as long as the sun keeps shining and life forms continue to live and die on the Earth’s surface and beneath Her seas.
Earth runs like a combustion engine
My theory has always been that what we’re witnessing as burning rock finding its way to the Earth’s surface through volcanic activity isn’t caused by pressure from gravity being relieved by pounding rock into liquid. It’s rather a kind of underground wild fire that surrounds the planet as ancient fossil fuels ignite under high pressure. Then ever since life has become so prevalent here, this underground firing of stone by fossil fuels has universally surrounded the planet so now we’re on a smoother ride than what it must have been like before this phenomenon first began to awaken where being anywhere on the planet would be like riding down a highway at high speed with flat tires.
But now that the inner core spins freely generating heat and friction as it rotates on top of a melting bed of rock for a shock absorber sitting atop a solid iron core acting as an axle, life has become heavenly by comparison where now it is like cruising in a Cadillac at a perfectly comfortable speed.
Earthquakes caused by potholes on the Earth’s surface
The earth’s core is like an engine fueled by crude oil while being lubricated by lava that gravitational pressures help to keep liquid hot. And it runs smoothly until we hit a bump in the road where the solid inner core bounces around inside the Earth’s fiery center pushing outward on the plates that surf the molten magma. This causes earthquakes and the eruption of volcanoes.
I’ve been tracking earthquakes for the last ten years. I’ve found they’re set off primarily by abrupt shifts in weight on the Earth’s surface. In my research, I follow drought stricken regions that slowly lose trillions of tons of groundwater to being mixed with hot gases caused by mankind and Mother Nature’s variances of the same pollutants. These gases cause water vapor to rise to higher reaches of the atmosphere than they normally would where it’s carried away to other parts of the world or pushed into the stratosphere where it stays until the source of the gases are removed.
Once the gas emissions slow or come to an end, groundwater returns to the region in the form of rain because water vapor that enters the area is no longer forced into a gaseous state. Of course the water vapor that’s been pushed into the upper atmosphere begins to settle also because it no longer has a source of gas to keep it aloft, like cutting off the supply of hot gas to a hot air balloon. This can cause horrific floods. When flooding comes to land effected by sustained drought, it adds a renewed pressure to an earthen plate that had been previously slowly affected by drought where a pressure shift from the lightened load hasn’t been realized yet.
It’s like a rubber band that’s stretched beyond its capacity to withstand without breaking. Since it happens slowly, it doesn’t break until an abrupt pressure is applied against it. That’s when not only the loss of groundwater weight is realized, new weight is being added back to it at the same time. This snap is like a huge hammer being leveled across the land. The pressure exerted from it travels through the ground until it hits the molten rock that the earthen plates glide across where a kind of lava tsunami occurs which causes the inner hard core of the planet to move away from the side of the Earth where the drought had just ended causing an earthquake on the other side of the planet. I have witnessed this phenomenon many times.
We’re riding on Gods pottery wheel
It’s not very complicated. It’s like we’re riding on a huge ball of clay spinning on God’s pottery wheel where one of his hands are the atmosphere and the other is the inner solid core. Slowly over time, the planet is becoming smooth like in how all the continents used to be connected as one piece of land sticking up out of a great sea while the Earth spun clunking along like it had a bubble in ones of its tires. Then the Gods invented the balanced wheel as They spread the continents around the globe evenly so we have a much smoother ride now.
Therein lies the dilemma of our purpose as human beings. You see sooner or later all the land will become level with the sea as the atmosphere and inner core of the planet conform it to the laws of physics. Not only do fossil fuels ignite the center of the Earth creating a spinning inner core that gives us negative and positive poles at the northern and southernmost tips of this sphere we call home, the gasses that come from Her belching belly and digesting intestines along with what we as life forms give off as byproduct of our lifestyles, these gases also give rise to our atmosphere as they attach to water vapor. Water vapor makes up most of the air that lies between the Earth’s surface and outer space. But can only rise to heights that allow for a life sustaining atmosphere if there’s a constant source of gasses to help it stay that way.
The reason of human intelligence
All life forms have gone go through various stages of evolution as they, or we, overpopulate the Earth’s surface and oceans. As we do, we leave our dead carcasses behind to later become fossil fuels that the lighter gaseous remnants of find their way back to the surface of the planet once there’s a critical mass of it built up beneath us so pressure builds up forcing it to be released. It’s like every so many million years, Mother Earth has an extreme bout of burps and farts that results in a global warming which is followed by an ice age when there’s no longer enough life left to create the gases needed to sustain a temperate climate. Then slowly life evolves again as gases build up slowly melting the ice where we go though the whole process all over again.
Every time this happens, life evolves back more sophisticated than the last go around. We go through a phase where the planet is clean and free of pollutants where life forms change radically from generation to generation as we race to find out as much about what the universe is willing to teach us before our living, breeding, and dying cause catastrophes that all but end life’s existence one more time. Then we came along, a species able to deduce the meaning of what’s happening and perhaps figure out a way to control it so that our destiny is no longer to become extinct with our spirits at the mercy of whatever next intelligent life form evolves and tries to fix what we weren’t able to get a handle on.
Its not too late
But we haven’t missed the chance to understand what the meaning of our existence is, yet. So we still have a chance to figure out what to do about it. In fact we’re very close to figuring it out now seemingly without knowing it. We’re drilling fuel from the Earth and burning it so it doesn’t later come back out as greenhouse gases. But we’re also causing weather pattern changes that appear to be the global warming we were meant to figure out how to prevent by performing our purpose for being created, or creating ourselves, irresponsibly.
Now if we fail and our life support system collapses, we’ve created so many dangerous industries that will leave behind so many toxic wastes that Mother Nature has never seen before, She may never be able to figure out how to clean it up so we will put an end to life here forever. But then again, if we weren’t challenging the edge of our survival, what model could She use in order to teach us how to understand how it all works? So the mistakes we’re making now that could eventually lead to our eternal demise might also be the serendipity that necessitates our future survival. But we need to think it through clearly
But we’re also drilling hundreds of billions of gallons of oil from the ground that might be needed to keep the heart the Mother Earth pumping molten magma through the veins of Her inner shell to keep our electromagnetic atmosphere powered so it helps protects us from the sun’s deadly rays. And perhaps Her molten interior acts as a buffer along with the solid inner core to keep Her oceans waters calm. Maybe without it, the land and ocean would become one again very fats as the Earth rattles on its path through the Milky Way like a car with no shock absorbers or suspension. There’s so much we don’t know where we think we have it all under control. Then a new finding like what professors Wookey and Helffrich have come up with humbles us, or me anyway. I doubt think most of you have even heard about this. What is the truth? – we need to know now
The earth’s core is solid but it isn’t being reported in the mainstream news media. We’re waiting to see who John McCain chooses as a running mate while debating whether we like the one Obama already chose. Maybe if this new research had been published in-between election cycles, it would have gotten the kind of coverage it deserves. Maybe someone will read this article who has the credentials to submit my twist on how the earth’s core really works to Nature.com. Perhaps I will even turn out to be right.
If we’re lucky, Nature.com will choose to release it’s review of whatever new theory evolves from the vetting process of this now old one when there isn’t a confusing almost ridiculous seeming political process going on that is taking everyone’s attention away from what our true purpose as human beings might be, to harvest fossil fuels before they cause a natural global warming while paying close attention to how important it is to leave behind enough fuel to power the inner core of the earth.
The Elders are getting in the way of our survival
The earth is a far more complex a living organism than the age group that’s governing the world today ever dreamed it could be when they were growing up. Young people are being taught new lessons about how our understanding of the meaning of life is changing. But the elders who make the decisions that decide our fate are lost in the world they built yesterday.
Mother Earth can feel us. She brought us here for a reason. If the Earth’s core is solid being surrounded by many miles of molten rock and gases, then She can feel us in Her Heart. Gravitational forces would insure that She would. And if we’re trying to understand the meaning She created us for when She bred intelligence into our soul, then we can feel Her as well. It means we’re all part of one evolutionary process that is not accidental. But we’re still misinterpreting the meaning of it all just a few degrees from where the truth lies.
The truth brings with it the realization of how dangerous the world we live in is where our delusions of reality help protect us from seeing it. But we’re also keeping ourselves from seeing just how magnificent our Creator is while ignoring the real dangers just ahead of us around the next curve in the road. We’re just now getting a glimpse of where it leads with how weather patterns have been changing so radically over the last few years.
Mother Earth has a heart that can stop just as ours can
We’re surfing on continents that are riding on a sea of highly explosive burning fuel. It’s like with our own body’s and the life that keep them moving - one day we can have our dreams coming true with nothing but bright futures to look forward to and the next we can be diagnosed with fatal cancer or get run over by a drunk driver. Mother Earth has the same kinds hurdles to deal with only Her and Us are one in the same. So if She goes, we follow. The same is true for where we take Her if we kill Her. In that sense, We are Her. But She’s trying to tell us how Her body works, what it needs to stay healthy. But we’re afraid to listen.
God is a truly frightening concept even as so many people happily build their lives around believing in one. But then they’re still not willing to face the truth of God in Nature. Ignoring this side of our Creator however might lead to our demise not unlike the fiery ending spoke of in the Bible. As the lights slowly dims as we unite to become one with Mother Earth when we fail to find our purpose and figure out how to save the world, the hell we’ll spend eternity looking back at as we fade from God’s memory will be the one we wake up to when we realize that we could have gotten this right if we had the guts.
Being a failure allows me see victory
I failed school from the 4rth grade until I was thrown out in my second year of high school. After I was stung by a nest of yellow jackets and died for a few minutes when I was 10 years old, I lost interest in school. I spent most of my time after that wandering the streets and woods around Northern Virginia searching for answers to what I saw while outside of my body before I climbed back into it forcing it to move and breath again.
I got my GED and went to college. When my class graduated from high school, I was ending my first year of engineering school. Then I wrecked on a motorcycle and broke my leg. It cost me 32 weeks in bed because I broke it a second time. After that, my parents got divorced. So I had to either go back to work risking breaking my leg a third time or learn to live on the streets. I chose the latter because that was where I loved to be anyway.
I spent twelve’s years living along highways and eating out of dumpsters while learning everything my Soul could teach my heart about the meaning of Life. For the last twenty years, I’ve slowly been finding my way back to where I left the rest of you bringing with me a sprit that knows more about us than we know about ourselves. It hasn’t been easy to make you listen but you are slowly waking up. You still however have a long way to go. And my interpretation of how Mother Earth speaks to me may not be prefect either. But there’s truth between the lines of what I write even though I don’t have the academic background to make the claims that I do. In fact I can prove a lot of what I say.
Mother can talk to you
No matter who you are, She will talk to you if you listen. And the more bullheaded you are, the more She will seem to be able to teach you. Lord knows I’m living proof of that. But we’re in a critical period of our evolution now, She and we alike. Heaven and hell are not two directions that we have a choice about which one we want to go to in the end. We’ll all be going go to one or the other. So when you hear Her voice talk to you as you see the signs of the times changing as She tries to show you how Her body works, listen and respond with enthusiasm because it is all that is out there for any of Us right now. Some day in the future it may be safe enough to dance around the meaning of life like it’s just a game the way we do now. But for today, life is still a highly volatile equation where every little bit you do to help or hurt the future might make all the difference in the world.
The teachers need to stand down and let the students perform
If you’re an elder, you are part of the problem that threatens everything we evolved to accomplish. Even if you think you’re on the good side of this equation, I assure you that you’ve gotten it wrong even with the best and brightest amongst you with the most perfect seeming intentions. You are what stands in Her way.
But You also built the model She uses to teach the rest of us what’s wrong and how to fix it. Without you, She would have no voice. But you still have a great potential to kill Her. Your purpose was to take Her to the edge of Her existence so We can see Her more clearly and find a way to bring Her back. But you have to stop the direction you’re heading towards now or it will be too late. You have to stop competing for power and money and try to understand what really motivated you to build the world we live in.
She knew the risks when She brought us here. She didn’t tell us because we would never have come here if she had. We would have taken an easier route and missed the point of the whole trip. We are soft. She is hard. We fear tomorrow. For Her, tomorrow is a million years away. We’re here together now so it’s time to stop running from Her. The party is over. It graduation time. It’s time for us to enter the real world and for the elders to stop telling the rest of us what that is. We’re so close to having it figured out but we’re missing the most obvious aspects of everything we came here to do because those who drove us here won’t open their eye’s to see where we truly are.
Let me give you some advice before I close.
Take your beliefs that don’t make sense and follow them through until they do. That is how you find truth. But please stop telling the rest of us that it all makes sense when you know you don’t understand it yourself. Your way of looking at things is figuring that if most of you are lost in finding out what the meaning of life is, then whatever confusion you arrived at when you gave up on finding the answer must be where the truth lies. Then you force the rest of us to believe in it. But reality isn’t a political process so you still have to go that extra mile to find out what you’re looking for even after the election is over or you come back from church on Sunday. But if you take my advice and figure out what’s wrong, don’t try to fix it. Just get out of the way of those who are trying to do it now.
