Cannabis Could Save Thousands of Cancer Patients Say Doctors
Cancer kills more British citizens than in most other European country's, but there is a cure. We're just not allowed to have it.
On a day its been announced in The Daily Mail that Great Britain has some of the worst cancer survival rates in the world, it would be reprehensible beyoned belief if it were proven a cure for a great deal of otherwise terminal cancers, a disease which will touch 1 in 3 of us in our lives, had been on the table since 1974.

The figures published today come from the hugely respected Eurocare-4 study, which compared the five-year survival rates of 2.7million adult patients up to 2004.
initially it was understood GB PLC was performing badly in terms of how we treat patients suffering as a result of cancer, but the final calculations, published today in the European Journal of Cancer, show the situation is even worse than feared.
Just 41.4 per cent of men and 51.4 per cent of women found to have cancer survive longer than five years after diagnosis - down on the 42 per cent and 53 per cent figures previously reported.
Experts blame NHS waste, drug rationing and a lack of cancer specialists for the shameful showing.
But another news report published by CannaZine Cannabis News has also been receiving some attention. so much so in fact, its taken over 30,000 web visitors in a single 24 hour period, showing just how strongly the public feels about this.
The news report tells of a study published recently in Nature Reviews-Cancer, which provides an historic and detailed explanation about how THC and natural cannabinoids counteract cancer, but preserve normal cells.
The study by Manuel Guzmán of Madrid Spain found that cannabinoids, the active components of marijuana, inhibit tumor growth in laboratory animals.
They do so by modulating key cell-signalling pathways, thereby inducing direct growth arrest and death of tumor cells, as well as by inhibiting the growth of blood vessels that supply the tumor.
The Guzman study is very important according to Dr. Ethan Russo , a neurologist and world authority on medical cannabis:
"Cancer occurs because cells become immortalized; they fail to heed normal signals to turn off growth. A normal function of remodelling in the body requires that cells die on cue. This is called apoptosis, or programmed cell death.
That process fails to work in tumors. THC promotes its reappearance so that gliomas, leukemias, melanomas and other cell types will in fact heed the signals, stop dividing, and die."
"But, that is not all," explains Dr. Russo: "The other way that tumors grow is by ensuring that they are nourished: they send out signals to promote angiogenesis, the growth of new blood vessels. Cannabinoids turn off these signals as well. It is truly incredible, and elegant."
