Welsh Facebook Users Blogs Getting Google Indexed Super-Fast?
Its every budding 'blogstars' holy grail right? Google or Yahoo indexing within a week or two.

You come up with a great idea for a blog or business website, and then you spend the next week building your online creation.

REMEMBER: Google is our friend!
You then spend the next month or two in a very exclusive club, as you're the only one actually looking at your website. Doh!

So how do we go about making sure your blog/website gets indexed in super-fast time?

Read it and weep, BEFORE paying out hundreds of pounds/dollars/gumbo beads in SEO (search engine optimisation) services.
Step 1
First step I always take is to create a blog for the website - website.com/blog. Even better if you put your "blog" in the root of your hosting - website.com.

Step 2
Then add some content which is pertinent to the keyword(s) you are chasing.

Original content is good, but this is the Web 2.0 generation, (the human edited internet) so there's nothing wrong with posting up material from other sources too, (padding) just so long as your fastidious with the links back to the source, and you keep the percentage of "aggregated" (copied) material relative to the percentage of original material.

Tools of the trade
I always use Wordpress for my self-hosted blogs and there's some great plug-ins which will do lots of leg-work for you if you do the same.

2 plug-ins which no self respecting blogster should be without are 'Dagon Design sitemap generator' and 'XML sitemaps'.

Once installed these will create a quite beautiful sitemap, rather than the normal google sitemaps which have no design elements attached, (drop me a message if you want to see one in action).

Remember - Google is our friend
But now the key action; go over to 'Google Blogs' and submit your blog address. Thats the first step.

Then open up a 'Feedburner' account and "burn" your feed. This gives you two different blog addresses, (the original XML feed from your blog, which google blogs now has, and the newly burned feedburner feed address).

Nearly done - hang in there
Then I go to Google reader, and subscribe to BOTH address's.

Meaning google and feedburner both have to send bots to get your feeds for you, and badabing, you're on your way, with two of the biggest names on the web already looking at your etchings.

This is just a single step in truth.

A part of the whole, but its a sure fire way of giving you a head-start over the other 98% of webmasters who don't bother, or don't know.

Anything you're not sure on? Ask away.

To submit the address of a blog or website which already exists, just visit the following address and input your website address or RSS feed.

Do the same with feedburner as outlined above and the job, is most definitely a good 'un.

Thanks for the great post! I have used some of these tools but not all of them. Dagon Design sitemap generator sounds like something I need to add to the list.

One other thing to keep in mind is to block spiders/robots until after you have at least 6-12 posts in your blog. Otherwise the spiders and bot will drop off quickly after the first week of visiting you blog.

Do this by selecting Settings, Privacy, then check "I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors"

Once you have 6-12 posts then turn on off the privacy and enjoy the spider attacks (and traffic)!

I have put together a pocketmod on based on my recently release ebook "WordPress on AutoPilot: Get Your Blog to Automatically Find Content, Traffic, and Sales" - www.chimp-simple.com/2009/03/24/wordpress-on-autopilot-ebook-description/

I have also put together a FREE pocketmod with all the plugins I use in the ebook. Here is the link to download it:

Thanks Again,
Stev...
