The podcasts start with Rick Simpson, talking about this amazing cancer curing oil you can make at home.

We then go on to talk with Dr. Robert Melamede who explains the science and nature behind this amazing life giving plant and talks about endocannabinoids and cannabinoid receptors.

Rick Simpson
Rick Simpson first began using marijuana to treat post-concussion syndrome after prescription drugs failed. Rick made oil from marijuana and started to treat himself after learning much about the medical properties of the plant.

Knowing firsthand that the oil cures cancer due to curing himself of skin cancer Rick started to help others educating them on how to make the oil. Rick says the oil is not limited to just cancer as whatever they have applied the oil to it appears to cure all symptoms.

Suffice to say the American medical establishment was quick to poo-poo Rick's amazing cure-all, accusing him of being nothing more than a snake oil vendor. Even though to the very best of our knowledge he never tried to sell any of his hemp oil, (go figure).

As a result of his altruistic actions in helping other people create their own potent hemp oil tincture the Canadian authorities, instead of congratulating Rick and seeking more research into the beneficial aspects of his oil, actually attempted to imprison Rick Simpson as if he were just another pot dealer trying to get rich on the black market when in fact nothing could be further from the truth.

At this stage its worth pointing out (in laymans terms) exactly what it is that makes Rick's hemp oil the efficacious elixir that millions of US citizens already know it to be.

And it has nothing at all to do with witch-craft, black magic, nor indeed, snake oil.

Dr Robert Melamede
In fact pretty much any second year medical student would already have a fair understanding of the mechanics behind Simpson's hemp oil, due to the way the human body's immune system is supported by our naturally occuring endocannabinoid system and there's no better qualified person to explain how cannabis and the human body safely interact as they have over millenia, than Dr Bob Melamede.

Cancer Cure - Cannabis & Cannabinoids, by Robert Melamede PhD

Dr. Melamede has a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry from the City University of New York, and is a world renowned expert on Endocannabinoids.

He retired as Chairman of the Biology Department at University of Colorado, Colorado Springs in 2005, where he continues to teach. Dr. Melamede is recognized as a leading authority on the therapeutic uses of cannabis, and has authored or co-authored dozens of papers on a wide variety of scientific subjects.

Dr. Melamede says that the Cannabis flower is the most effective and versatile medicine known to humankind.

"It's an overall nervous system tune-up" he says.

Dr Bob believes "By our inalienable rights we should be allowed to use it and grow it even for personal therapeutic use, without a doctors approval.

Of course, if smoking bothers you, you could always take a dose of Rick Simpsons Hemp Oil.

And when a doctor says "It [marijuana] is good for us", but a politician says otherwise, who are you going to believe?

Global Hemp - Hemp Oil vs Marijuana Oil     | 98.214.120.xxx | 2009-06-10 04:05:56
Its nice to see that this article refers to Rick Simpson's oil as Marijuana Oil. However, its rather unfortunate that Rick Simpson refers to his marijuana oil as "Hemp Oil" which it is not.

If Rick Simpson's Marijuana Oil really does treat and / or cure cancer, then that is fantastic and he is fully supported. However, he should seriously reconsider mislabeling his product as Hemp Oil.

There are literally hundreds of names for marijuana, but only one name for hemp.

Take dogs for example. One could group all dogs into one category and simply refer to them as dogs. Then, one could go one step further and label dogs as lap dogs or hound dogs, etc. However, anyone who has seen a poodle, certainly would not mistake it for a collie, a beagle for a great dane, etc.

The same goes for hemp and marijuana. When there is a descriptive name for something, you should refer to it as such.

You certainly would not substitute a jalapeno or habanero pepper in place of a green bell pepper whe...

hey watch "Rick Simpsonīs CRUSH CANCER WITH HEMP AND TRUTH - Free Internet Seminar"... there he explains pretty good why he uses the term hemp-oil.
David - hemp is more correct then mari   | 76.104.222.xxx | 2009-06-11 00:57:43
marijuana is not a proper term either, it's actually a slang word that Mexican immigrants in in the 1930's used. Cannabis oil would be proper, and since hemp doesn't mean the same thing as industrial hemp (the stuff you thought it meant, the kind grown without THC) maybe Rick just didn't want to use a derogatory term that was intended to confuse the supreme court into believing the drug menace didn't have anything to do with the cannabis plant that was accepted and known by both hemp and cannabis, but instead related to the "lesser races."
2BRNOT2B HEMP - HEMP OR HEMP"?????   | 206.174.37.xxx | 2009-06-10 06:12:54
global hemp--my understanding is it is the same plant, whether S or I strains. What one may call it, depends on several factors. Two of which are, 1. where one is from can determine the definition of something-cannabis/hemp, 2. farming and manipulation techniques achieve certain traits, such as very closely spaced broadcast planting/seeding of the ground (a seed every 2 inches will yield extremely tall single stalk/stem cannabis/hemp. The thc content in henmp can be over 20% its all in the genes/genetics of the seeds. Widely spaced planting 6-10 ft. apart can cause to be produced huge bushes with many appendiges/branches and be very dense depending on strains/types of seeds. If grown in a warm subtropical climate, and if left on its own, a hemp/cannabis plant can produce for several decades becoming a "TREE". Try not to get to technical about Hemp OIL - MJ OIL, you know TOMATO tomato, hey in Canada they say ey!!! and hemp oil, in the US we say right and MJ OIL. Got it, Get it,...

Hi,
Your complaint on the use of the words marijuana oil versus hemp oil is a little confusing to me. Marijuana is a slang word for Cannabis Sativa. Cannabis Sativa is the Latin but just as valid are the terms Cannabis Indica, Cannabis Americana, Cannabis Hemp, True Hemp and even Common Hemp. The only reason books of antiquity didn't normally identify True Hemp with just the word hemp because they didn't want it to be confused with what they called lesser fibers of the alternative fiber producing plants also sometimes simply called hemp plants. Case in point is Manilla Hemp or Canadian Hemp both of which refer to plants unrelated to Cannabis. Therefor the hundreds of names you attribute to marijuana are actually belonging to hemp not the other way around. All the best, :) Michael

I think its fair to assume if Rick Simpson had cured his skin cancer with any substance OTHER than cannabis he would have been presented with an honorary Phd from one of the high profile east coast educational establishments.
Global Hemp - Cannabis Sativa vs Cannabis In     | 98.214.120.xxx | 2009-06-10 18:34:53
Hemp and Marijuana are both cannabis.

Traditionally, hemp was solely cannabis sativa. Sativa is Latin for "useful."

Traditionally, Cannabis Indica was the high THC content (medicinal/recreational) version. Over time, marijuana growers have crossed cannabis Indica with cannabis sativa to obtain some of hemp's traits, mainly its hight.

Its easy to visually distinguish between cannabis sativa and indica. Sativa has skinny leaves and it generally tall and slender, Indica has wide leaves and is bushy.

Marijuana is a Mexican slang term for what was Cannabis Indica or better known as "Indian Hemp" at the time that the term Marihuana/Marijuana was coined. They were obviously referring to Indian Hemp, Cannabis Indica, high-THC content cannabis.

:0 Good facts. U forgot to mention that It is a gender difference from industrial hemp. That is right folks- The Cure comes from the Female version of the Industrial Hemp plant which can replace our dependence on oil among it's many uses. We should also focus on it's many values in other areas too!
