Did Cannabis News Deflect Public Attention From Expense Scandals?
http://pr.cannazine.co.uk : Its been quite a first two years in power for Gordon Brown. After alienating the health service, the prison service and the Police service by going back on previously made promises, we now find the entire British public has been disrespected in the worst way possible. And it looks likely the cannabis issue which has rumbled on since Brown was ushered into power via the tradesmans entrance, could well have been used as a front to hide the extent of the MP's expenses abuse.

The most 'Conservative' Labour leader ever - Gordon Brown
And whilst former Home Secretary Jacqui Smith (remember her? She's the one married to porno boy, the one who charged us for his films) tried to tell us she was acting in the best interests of the British public when she changed the laws regarding cannabis, they were ALL in cahoots, milking an already 'verging-on-bankruptcy' nation for all it was worth.
This current bunch of MP's who, no matter how you look at it; no matter how you try to justify the 'mistakes' all of these rotten apples are claiming as responsible for their respective thefts, (as thats what they are), these MP's have ridden the British parliamentary system for all its worth and Labour MP's, as they are the longest standing in power, are the ones shown to be the most guilty.

The United Kingdom spoke out during the European elections, by knocking Labour into fourth place in some consitituencies and its fair to assume at this stage that any thoughts of a turnaround

at the forthcoming general election have slipped from Gordon Brown's reach. The Labour party seniors will rue the day they decided not to step in and depose Premier Brown 12 months since, as to have done so would have at least shown some fighting spirit as well as some respect for a dissillusioned electorate.

So its time the United Kingdom started to look towards what the future may hold in store for it and it would take a foolish man to bet against a Conservative government being elected. But is that going to make any difference at all? One would assume not.

Today its been announced that Tory leader David Cameron will pay back £1000 in expenses he had 'mistakenly' claimed.

Initially Cameron's liability had been limited to a £680 maintenance bill for removing wysteria from the rear of his property. An expense he 'assured us'; he promised us through his best, most honest smile at the time, it was the ONLY expense he had ever claimed.

But today according to a news report from respected news outlet Reuters, its come to light Mr Cameron will also pay back 267.29, after making 'further checks' on his expenses claims.

"I would like to make clear that these were discovered as a result of a thorough review by my office, not as a result of media enquiries," he wrote in a letter to parliamentary officials.

Like that makes it OK in some way?

Perhaps more importantly I think its fair for the British public to assume that a good many serving politicians are far more guilty than the excellent 'sleuthing' which was undertaken by The Telegraph newspaper would suggest.

But the truth is we'll never get to hear about it, as due to the way the British parliamentary system works the elections will have come and gone before we can claim back our pound of flesh.

The Labour party, which has moved so far to the right of centre as to be almost indistinguishable from the Conservatives has gone. Is a spent force in British politics. And in their place we will either have a Liberal Democrat administration who whilst being a little lightweight in the policies department do at least promise to bring some common sense to the drugs debate.

In an e-mail I received recently from Nick Cleggs office I was assured in no uncertain terms that cannabis prosecutions for personal possession and/or social supply would stop if the Lib-Dems were elected.

The other alternative of course, is for Cameron's Conservatives to swoop to power in an ironic mirror reversal of Tony Blairs defeat of John Major's tories what seems like 30 years ago.

But it matters not in the grand scheme of things, for until we are able to install some regular members of the public into Parliament, with a view to breaking up the chinless old boys club, the fact is as one door closes, the elite 1% of society will find other ways to milk the other 99% of us, and as they do, they'll smile at each other safe in the knowledge that, as things stand, nothing is going to change, and when laws are broken, Parliament will close ranks to hide it from us; the great unwashed.

Only you, and your vote, can change this.
