The case surrounding Britains youngest ever mother, who recently found herself in court convicted of possessing cannabis hi-lights perfectly well exactly what is wrong with the legal status of cannabis.
And where the anti-cannabis brigade will always proclaim there is no such thing as a victimless crime, in this instance its difficult to see how anyone could claim to be a victim in the whole distateful debacle, apart from the poor girl who was arrested in her own home.

This case also proves beyond doubt, just how out of touch the judicial system is with the lives of the general public, and whether Gordon Brown, David Cameron and Nick Clegg like to admit it, there will be millions of 19 year olds around the world this weekend, smoking a joint, and causing no harm to themselves or any others. Will we try to arrest them all?
Amy Crowhurst, now 19, told Crawley Magistrates’ Court that she smoked the drug in order to escape the stress of parenthood.
Police raiding her home discovered 5.2g of the class B drug, along with equipment for growing it. Amy finally pleaded guilty to a total of three counts of possessing the drug. For which she was sentenced to a community order for nine months, told to pay £40 costs (about what it would have cost amy to buy 5 grams of cannabis surprisingly) and enrolled on a drug rehabilitation course, all at huge expense to the public purse.
A spokesman for CannaZine Cannabis News said "its little more than a clumsily applied tax levy."
"The fact is" he continued, "If you wish to get blind drunk or stoned on weed the government wants its piece of the pie. Thats how it works although they need to keep cannabis outside of the law for the sake of the big spending lobbies such as alcohol and oil".
"Amy wanted to smoke weed because she couldn't afford to buy alcohol. And thats her crime right there."
"Something which has absolutely nothing to do with public health".
