Unfortunately we don't have any details as to why UKC no longer exists, but its fair to say with the price of hosting climbing higher every year, its a fair bet money had something to do with it.

I happen to know the hosting was costing the administrator of UKC upwards of £3000 per year.

Which is quite a chunk of change to support a 'hobby' which is illegal in the country which hosts its website.
