South Wales police have busted open another alleged cannabis factory, this time in the Bargoed area of the South Wales valley's.
Its the umpteenth such bust in the South Wales area in recent times, which further hi-lights the futility of maintaining cannabis as an illegal substance.
Details on the report remain sketchy at the moment even though a man is reportedly in custody, but the grow operation was said to be worth around £30,000 spread over 250 plants, or according to police "a six figure sum annually".
A warrant to search the property had been executed, apparently after the neighbourhood policing team noticed unusual activity at the house. Officers executed the search warrant and found plants growing in a downstairs room and in three rooms upstairs.
Along with the plants a large amount of hydroponic equipment has been siezed as a result of the raid.
George Fleri, the neighbourhood sergeant for Bargoed, said: “It is a very positive result, as it has prevented these drugs from being sold on the drugs market.”
Canna Zine Comment But surely the easiest way to prevent commercial grow operations from springing up in our neighbourhoods, would be to let the cannabis consuming community grow their own? Just a couple of plants for personal consumption.
Almost overnight the bottom would drop out of the illicit cannabis market, freeing up valuable police resources to tackle the real drug issues in South Wales.
The issue of Class A drugs.
At the same time this action would generate literally millions of tax pounds which could be used to bolster the flagging health service here in South Wales.
Win/win.
