Barack Obama was hardly a "party animal" when he attended Occidental College from 1979 to 1981, recalls one former student.
| “If someone passed him a joint, he would take a drag," says Vinai Thummalapally. "We’d smoke or have one extra beer, but he would not even do as much as other people on campus. He was not even close to being a party animal.”
Obama’s half-sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, confirms that "he wasn’t a drug addict or dealer." When Obama left Occidental in Los Angeles after two years, he transfered to Columbia University in New York, where he graduated with a B.A. in 1983. |
