Washington, D.C.-based R&B singer J. Holiday (nee Nahum Grymes) was arrestedfor marijuana possession in Salisbury, Maryland on Thursday night, Feb. 21 at 10:30 pm. Stopped for speeding, Maryland State Police claimed "there was a visual observation of marijuana on his person, on his front shirt and that coupled with the odor of marijuana, Mr. Grymes was arrested for that."
A "nominal amount" of weed was found in the car's center console.
Holiday had just performed at the University of Maryland Eastern Shores in nearby Princess Anne. The singer has had hits with "Bed" and "Suffocate."
Maryland law specifies that any amount of marijuana is a misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of one year in jail and $1,000 fine.
