PENRYN, CORNWALL (16 May 2008)
The Cardiff-based electro break terrorists Staedler & Waldorf will release their debut album “No Way Home” on Aardvark Dance in July 2008.

Production duo Steve Jones and Paul Smith (no, not the British designer) teamed up with vocalist (and sometimes actress) Lacey Chaiff to launch 13 tracks of high-octane electro breaks meets bass meets the occasional dub and nods to Leftfield that work as well live as they did in the studio.

Smith and Jones have worked together on various projects for over nine years.

As DBOOGA, they played Glastonbury for 3 years running and now, as Staedler & Waldorf, they’ve made a name for themselves as a live act.
They’ve contributed to Flash Games, End of Nightmares and jingle ballistics, been commissioned by Hollyoaks In The City, O'Neil and Free Sport on 4 and recently signed to fair trade label Aardvark Records.

“Mode in Mind” is the first single to be released in early June 2008, accompanied by a promo video.  Mode’s sound is all dirty electro squelches with deep and rocking bass, a pumping rhythm section all rounded off with Chaiff’s all-knowing vocals. Alex di Savoia, Head of Aardvark dance, said: “Mode is the perfect track to launch this distinctive act. It was one of the three tracks that prompted me to sign them. To say it will be one of Staedler & Waldorf’s signature tracks is an understatement”.

Tracks like “Bangra”, “Mutant” and “Dye Boogie” go heavy on the bass, while others like “The Big Swell” offer a subtle and blessed-out vibe. Things get exceedingly naughty in “Let’s F***”, “XTC” and “All About The Sex”.  And when Staedler & Waldorf want to get big, smooth and slick, it doesn’t get any better than “Can’t Fight The Noise”. “Edd Zachary” comes in on a lowdown while “Sequel Breakout” is Disneyland fun with a jazz tip.

“No Way Home” features 13 tracks that don't stagnate or merge into one sound. It's a journey to please from start to finish.

With Staedler & Waldorf it’s not about being cool.  It’s about knowing what you want to do – and then doing it. All that and a very iconic album cover to boot. “No way Home” will be released in July 2008. Advance CDs are available through CDJShop in the UK and Europe and Kunaki in North America.

The trio are also ready to face the inevitable Jim Henson lawsuit
