A radio presenter from Macon has been suspended indefinitely after being busted with a few grams of marijuana.
I could rant and rail for fully one hour, without humming or hah-ing, on the injustices of marijuana law as we know it today. If like me you've done your homework on cannabis and its back-ground, you will know that, yes, it comes with an element of risk, but only in no worse a way than tobacco does, or alcohol.
But is it dangerous enough to completely screw up someones life if they're caught with a dime bag? Hell no! And I think this is one of the greatest injustices of all.
Stop messing up peoples lives with stupid, minor, personal possession charges.
Cannabis laws were put in place at the behest of a few once powerful men. No matter which particular conspiracy theory you subscribe to, the fact cannabis is illegal has absolutely nothing to do with public health right?
So when a guy who is making his way in life, loses his career over a small, personal bag of marijuana, it really pisses me off.
So this guy, Daniel Shane McBryde, who host's WMAC News Talk 940 radio in Macon, was arrested Tuesday afternoon for possession of marijuana.
Get this. Macon police had been called to a Center Street residence for a weapons call which turned out to be false.
The home owner gave permission for a search and when the people in the house were told a k-9 dog unit was on its way, McBryde admitted to having a dime bag of marijuana.
Another individual admitted that a blunt had just been smoke.
As a result of this incident, McBryde has been released on bond and is on indefinite suspension from his position at the Cumulus Broadcasting station.
Now I ask you, what the hell is that all about?
This guy has been suspended from his job, because he had a few grams of weed? I tell ya the law's an ass! Somebody call the president.
