'Cannabis Gets You Stoned': report |

According to Canadian Scientists, drugs that contain compounds called cannabinoids, the "psycho-active" element from the cannabis plant, don't increase the risk of serious side effects but are associated with an increase in some non-serious side effects.
Researchers at McGill University in Montreal, and the University of British Columbia (UBC) examined adverse events reported in 31 clinical studies of cannabinoid medications, which were conducted between 1966 and 2007.
These 'adverse events' were grouped as serious or non-serious. Serious adverse events included those that led to hospitalization, disability or death, (none of which were reported). My God, its just as I suspected all along. Cannabis does indeed, get you stoned". Original Cheese by Big Buddha.

Non-serious adverse events included dizziness and drowsiness, (AKA "being stoned").
The research found that over-all, "there was an 86 percent increase in the rate of non-serious adverse events among the patients treated with cannabinoids compared to the patients in the control groups," Dr. Mark Ware, a neurosciences researcher at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre, said in a prepared statement.
According to the resultant report, "Most of the non-serious side effects were mild to moderate in severity."
But what does that mean exactly?
Looking at the criteria for a "non-serious event" and for instance we see one of these non-serious side effects is the fact it makes you lose your balance, induces some shot-term memory loss, and affects "cognitive" performance, making it unwise to operate machinery or drive.
But doesn't that sound just like being drunk?
The truth is, the "non-serious" events referred to in the report, are the actual narcotic effects of the cannabis they have either grown, or bought and paid for. But in this instance they are referred to as "events".
But one persons "event" is another persons "stone".
The fact that there was only "an 86 percent increase in the rate of non-serious adverse events", is a direct reflection of the quality of cannabis used, in what is no more than simply a collection of observations spread over 4 decades.
Using hi-grade home-grown cannabis, that statistic should read 100% and with this in mind, isn't it time the government carried out some adult research on the side effects of cannabis use, but using the cannabis which is in use daily here in the UK, instead of some ditchweed grown in a lab?
